LA GRAVE is situated in the “Hautes Alpes” region of France on the Route National (RN) 91.
It is 75 km east of Grenoble in the direction of Briancon. Best way before driving into Grenoble is to take the ring road “Rocade Syd” that will give you directions to Briancon (RN) 91 and to La Grave.

From Grenoble take the RN91 direction Briancon and Gap. After approx. 15 km the road splits. Stay on the RN91 direction Briancon. Grenoble to LA GRAVE is 77 km and takes approx. 1 1/2 hours. Pass through LA GRAVE and on your left side you will see Hotel des Alpes “Skiers Lodge” If traveling by auto route from Geneve to Grenoble, be sure to ignore any GPS directions via the Col du Galibier — this high mountain pass is closed from late November to May. Instead, follow directions to La Grave via Grenoble.
By Rental Car:
Car rental at the Geneva, Lyon or Grenoble airport, is straight-forward, however we would strongly suggest prior booking of your vehicle — especially if you require a station wagon, minivan or any of the large multi-passenger vans that are available. In winter season, rental vehicles are equipped with snow tires. Check the trunk of your rental vehicle for tire chains prior to leaving the rental garage. By Rail:
Grenoble train station is serviced by the French TGV (fast train) from Paris (3 hours) and the high-speed Eurostar from London (7 hours) Geneva (1 1/2 hours). GRENOBLE TRAIN Station is frequent connections with all major French towns ; TGV link with Paris.
By Bus:
If you are arriving to Grenoble Bus/Train Station. If you catch the bus towards (Grenoble – Briancon) Nr 35 to La Grave. It takes approx. 1,5 hours. www.vfd.fr

Although Grenoble Airport is the nearest and the most convenient for clients! Lyon and Geneva which both have good bus (Lyon) and (Geneva) services to Grenoble Train Station. We would suggest avoiding Turin, Italy. There are no bus or train links except car rental and due to the fact that the drive from Turin to La Grave requires crossing two high passes subject to closure in snowy weather. The drive around can take more than 5 hours…

Shuttle bus to/from Grenoble bus station and Airport Lyon-Saint Exupéry. When traveling from Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport to Grenoble, tickets can be bought either from the shuttle bus counter (still called “Satobus”) inside the airport or directly from the driver. A single ticket costs 20 Euros, although it is cheaper to buy a return (30 Euros). The bus leaves from the bus stand situated between Terminals 1 and 2, Level 1 and arrives at central bus station, next to the railway station and the tram lines A and B. If you are traveling to La Grave, then you can get the Ben’s Bus ski transfer to the “Lac du Chambon” where you can get the local taxi man, Jean, to pick you up. Please then contact us to let us know you will need dropping off at / picking up at the Lac du Chambon so we can make a note of it on our transfer list.
